It’s common knowledge that when the UK experiences a few sun rays, we all walk around like we’ve been hit by scorching Spanish weather. We Brits know that despite the positive looking forecasts, everything can change within a minute and we must make the most of what we’re given.
For some reason, unbeknownst to us, it’s likely that we’re going to be blessed with a nice warm summer! Don’t ask me why, maybe it’s a reward for spending the best part of 2020 inside. With UK staycations on the rise, we’ve been on the hunt to find you some of the best pubs with the most beautiful views, to showcase British beauty. From panoramas of the countryside to watching the slow ripples of the canal, here are our top six pubs with the best views around!
1The Red Lion Hotel, Clovelly
First on our list is The Red Lion in Clovelly, a four star inn which overlooks the harbour. There are two bars, one slightly cosier than the other to have a drink and relax in and you’ve also got the choice of staying over, with rooms showcasing spectacular views of the sea or the harbour. It’s located close to hiking trails and a five minute walk to the beach so you can walk or sunbathe off those beers!
2The Rose & Crown, Allgreave
The Rose & Crown is set amongst the beautiful Cheshire countryside, with stunning views of the Dane Valley. They have a great stock of wines from around the world and tasty pub food all sourced from local suppliers, perfect for when you’ve finished your country walk.
3The Bridge Inn, Edinburgh
If you’re planning on visiting Scotland for your summer break, make sure you pay a visit to the Bridge Inn. Located above the Union canal, this beautiful pub has not only gorgeous views across the river but also a beer garden. If you fancy staying a night, their rooms overlook the canal too, so you have a striking scenery to wake up to – we can’t wait to visit!
4The Ship Inn, Norfolk
This pub has been around for 300 years making it the oldest pub on the North Norfolk coast. Norfolk, with its beautiful coastline, is fast becoming popular for an English holiday and with rooms available here – complete with a beer garden overlooking the sea – it makes the perfect setting to listen to the sounds of the waves. They also host regular jazz nights so make sure you find out when they’re next scheduled.
5Trafalgar Tavern, London
I couldn’t write this article without paying homage to this wonderful pub situated in London, slap bang on the South bank of the River Thames – how’s that for a view? Located in Greenwich, you’ve got a wide array of drinks to choose from and you’ve got the option of sitting inside (if the English rain sets in) still overlooking the river through the windows.
6The King’s Head, Kent
With impressive views across the channel, this bed and breakfast has a beer garden which overlooks the sea – on a clear day, you can even see France! Situated in Deal, whether you choose to stay overnight or simply fancy a drink with friends in the sunshine, this cosy pub and its spectacular seafront location is the place to go.
